FIELD NOTE 02 THE COMPARISON

Top 5 Text-to-Video AI Tools With No Watermark?

A clear watermark is not the same as a free video. We checked five official plan pages so the fine print is part of the comparison—not a surprise at export.

“No watermark” search results can be misleading. It may describe a paid subscription, a free tier that comes with no monthly generation credits, or one tool inside a much larger creative suite. A watermark-free export is only useful when the plan also lets you create the video—and the terms are clear enough for your use.

What we checked: the official pricing, membership, and help pages linked below, on 8 October 2026. Plans, model access, promotional credits and export rules change. This is a dated snapshot, not a guarantee or endorsement.

Five plans, five different answers

ToolWhat the listed free access saysWatermark note
Runway ↗125 one-time credits. A limited, changing set of generative tools/models.Runway says all videos made on its Free plan carry a watermark. Model access can change.
Luma ↗Its current official pricing lists paid monthly plans. No ongoing free plan is listed there. No ongoing free export policy is established by that pricing page; verify any in-app trial.
Pika (Pika Labs) ↗$0 plan lists 0 credits per month; credit packs only. The plan lists “No watermark,” but 0 monthly credits means video generation still requires credits.
Kling AI ↗Basic has no monthly credits; the plan lists three daily Element AI Multi-Shot uses. The checked plan page does not state a universal watermark rule for those exports.
Hailuo AI ↗The homepage advertises 150 signup credits. Its terms page says new-user credits are one-time and expire after three days. The terms page (last updated 14 July 2025) says free downloads include a watermark; confirm the latest rule in the app.

Every entry above links to the product. For the underlying access details, use each source page in the Motion Atlas directory; a product's free tier can differ by model, account, region or promotion.

So, which one is actually watermark-free for free?

Among these five pages, Pika currently makes the clearest no-watermark claim on its Free plan—but the same pricing page says that plan has zero monthly credits and that credit packs are needed. That is a useful export-policy detail, not evidence of a recurring supply of free video generations.

Runway's official help page explicitly says its free videos carry a watermark. Hailuo's policy makes the same distinction for free downloads, but that page is dated July 2025, so check the product for changes. Luma and Kling do not establish a universal free-plan watermark rule on the pages used for this comparison.

That means the honest answer isn't “these five all let you make watermarked-free videos for nothing.” It is: check the exact model, the credit source, and the export rule together—before spending time writing the prompt.

How to check a tool before your first render

  1. Look for credits, not only a $0 price. Is the allowance recurring, one-time, or empty until a credit pack is purchased?
  2. Read the rule for video exports. “No watermark” for an image or a paid plan does not answer what a free video download looks like.
  3. Check which model is included. A free account may open the product but still require an upgrade for its headline video model.
  4. Confirm date and region. Daily offers, promotions and model availability can change; region or queue access can differ.
  5. Keep a source link. If the policy moves, an old comparison article shouldn't be the last word.

For client work, read beyond the watermark

An unbranded video is not automatically cleared for commercial use. Review the relevant plan's commercial licence, privacy and input-retention language, content restrictions, and any rights needed for reference images, music or people. Do not upload confidential or client material until the provider's terms are suitable for the work.

We will keep the directory source-linked and dated, but it is not a substitute for a provider's current terms. If watermark-free delivery is a must, run a small test on the exact account and model you expect to use before building a project around it.

This comparison is informational. Always confirm limits, licensing and export terms on the official provider site at the time you generate.
